HAVE U HEARD ABOUT "SPICE"??

I DONT THINK SO!..heh

Well this week 9....it was the week when we had our first lecturer with

Prof. Madya Dr. Rohaida..replacing Mr. Fauzi.

Honestly i was a bit worried, and nervous...getting to know our new lecturer.

she's fine, her first lectures capture my attention because she introduce to us on the new topic which is  "Instructional Design Theories"...i have heard instructional design but with theories..its new to me :)

"Instructional Design Theories is meant for "the explicit guidance on how to better help pupils' learning and development".... It can be either based on the Behaviourist or Cognitivist or even both"

she had explain in detail what were the theories all about...then she had continued on:

SPicE Instructional Design Model.

In this model, she stated 7 steps in the SPicE Instructional Design Model

1.Identify target audience
2.Identify instructional needs
3.Analyze instructional strategy
4.Performance objective
5.Design strategy for instruction
6.Develop instructional materials 
7.Conduct formative evaluation

There were task given by DR, it was quite tough especially if 

we don't understand what is "sPICE"..

simulated teaching???

it's very common nowadays to me..:)

As future teacher doing simulated teaching is like eating vegetables each and everyday. We are used to it, we practice and practice until we feel we wanted to puke...but then it's for our own good its preparing me for my future teaching my own groups of pupils..

WOW!! how amazing is that!! i never thought that i can be a teacher someday.

BUT............

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DOING MY SIMULATED TEACHING IN "SCIENCE"....

It has been four years..but it's my first time...

WHAT I CAN SAY is....PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!

I have to agree on that!

my simulated teaching went well..syukur alhamdulillah..

ouh..yeah!! not to forget..as teacher in general..we dont just teach but we teach with ethusiasm..we are able to detect if the teacher are well prepared for the lesson or not.

We should always bear in mind that we need to think of plan B whenever possible so that we wont panic when things just dont go the way we had planned it.[teacher needs to be spontanious]

critic science software

let's ponder on the title of my blog...

yup

yupp...i think most of the silent reader would be asking

why most of my blog entries is related to science...

well, its my minor subject..

as for this sem its all about technology and how we as science teacher manipulate the available courseware or software on  the internet etc..

what are the criteria we need to look for before we proceed in using it as a teaching and learning process.

through this "critics session on the software presented by each group", i finally realized how important it is as teacher to apply "HOTs-higher order thinking skills while commenting on the software chosen.

We need to be aware of the content wise since it will be used in Malaysia context. the content in the software may not be applicable for teh pupils in Malaysia.

Besides the content, the interface of the website for sure it must be "user friendly"it must be creatively develop which means it will be able to capture pupils attention. 

all in all, this session is an eye opener to me as well to my groupmates!!

week 3: pressureeeeee

life is getting more n more serious.

everybody is busy getting everything settle

meeting with date line...

for me...my life is at stake..

everybody needs to give their priority

its taking me more then just patience,but COURAGE

to cope with all the challenges nowadays.

im no longer in my safe zone

i need to organize my self before

i attemp any of the task given

in this science class.

the latest work assigned is LESSON PLAN...

guess what???

me n my groupmates need to present....yeay!!!

im also into it

n looking forward to see all the marvellous way of teaching..:)

my thoughts trembling somewhere!!

this is my second class of science....

im a bit frustrating and kinda mad its all mixed up!!

wanna know why??

because ive thinking......about the latest decision made by ministry of education to used back the old method of teaching SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS IN BAHASA MELAYU...

im emotionally affected and i was like trying to figure out how could this happen.it had only been 5 years the PPSMI being implemented in schools widely, of course within that short range, we could not have the result that would satisfied the society. i was really dissapoined, 

• 1st-I'am trained for six years to teach English and also to teach Science in English
• 2nd- It was not easy for us to transfer the knowledge that we had learned in Bahasa and to learned it by heart in English just for teh sake of our nation. "we serve the nation by heart"
• 3rd- I dont think I would have the chance to teach my nation in Science in English.i will be graduating by the end of 2011.
• 4th- It's soo ermm i dunno what to say for me it's UNFAIR....

BUT then, im just the citizens that will obeyed what the goverment had set for us. I'm just hoping one day, they could see the impact. the implimatation was too short and they want to see the outcome in a short term also. Be rational and critical thinker!! The transformation was not easy, everything needs time , money and couraged.

Well thats just my point of view....:)

even tho life is unpredictable..
